*This is a true story about one woman’s experience with hair loss. Her name has been changed to protect her privacy. This story was written with her full consent and approval of the content. Read part one of Nicole’s story here.

Nicole finally decided to come see us at Hairfax, to find out what options were available to help her. She didn’t tell anyone that she had scheduled a consultation.

“He made me feel like I’m not the only one that has hair loss.”

When we asked Nicole what her consultation was like, she also said that Larry was nice and easy to talk to, and that he made her feel comfortable. During the consultation, Nicole learned that a non-surgical procedure was the best option for her to regain the fullness she desired in her hair.

When she returned home, Nicole had a conversation with her husband about what she had learned in the consultation and also what it meant for them, financially. Since she did such a good job of covering up her thinning hair, her husband was unaware of the extent of her hair loss and, therefore, couldn’t help but wonder whether the situation warranted treatment.

One day, while her husband was at work, Nicole decided to see if her hair loss really was a bad as she felt it was. She washed her hair and, for the first time in years, she didn’t apply eye shadow to her scalp.

She simply dried it and waited for her husband to come home.

When he arrived, she said nothing; waiting patiently to see if he would notice. When he did, the decision was made.

Nicole contacted Hairfax and set up a time that was convenient for her to have the non-surgical hair replacement procedure.

In the days leading up to the procedure, Nicole was nervous, scared and excited all at the same time. She said that she prepared herself for the worst, but hoped for the best, and left it in God’s hands. She even decided that if she didn’t like it, she would buy a wig, wait for her hair to grow back in and go back to covering up with eye shadow.

Part three of Nicole’s story  will be published June 18, 2013.
